Off-Premise Illinois BASSET Alcohol Online Training Course

If you work or wish to work as a cashier, manager, or owner of an establishment such as a liquor store, grocery store, or convenience store, this training course can provide you with essential tools. It's three hours long, but is completely online and compatible with any device that connects to the internet, such as a computer, tablet, or mobile device. The program saves your place automatically, so you can log on and off as much as you want, meaning you can take it on your time, at your pace, and wherever you're most comfortable. We also give you unlimited attempts to pass and provide 24/7 customer support, so you can take it stress free.

The off-premise BASSET training course was designed by the state of Illinois to reduce the risk of overconsumption and create safer communities where alcohol is served. Among the material covered are the following topics:

  • Alcohol and Its Properties
  • Preventing Intoxication and Assuring Customer Safety
  • Laws About Minors and Alcohol
  • Practicing the Refusing of Sale/Service to a Minor
  • DUI Penalties
  • When to Ask for an ID
  • Dram Shop Laws

As required by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, there is both a pre-exam and a post-exam, both multiple choice. The pre-exam is taken before you begin the course and is designed merely to see your knowledge level at the start. The questions are given one by one so you can see what the correct answer is to each, but there is no penalty for choosing the wrong answer. The post-exam is taken at the end of the course and consists of 20 multiple choice questions. You must answer at least 70% correctly, but you have an unlimited number of attempts to pass.

Additionally, there are quizzes at the end of each of the five lessons to help you prepare for the final exam. You must get at least 70% to pass each quiz, but you have unlimited attempts to pass these as well.

Once you successfully complete the course, you will be able to download a certificate that can be used as a temporary BASSET card. We will submit your information to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, who will mail you a permanent card.
